13th Annual Hawaii Nei Art Show at Wailoa Center
The Wailoa Center currently hosts the 13th annual Hawaii Nei Art Exhibition. The artwork will be on display from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, through December 16 at the Wailoa Center.
Hawaii Nei is a juried art exhibit celebrating the native flora and fauna of the island of Hawaii hosted by the Three Mountain Alliance, the Hawaii Island Art Alliance, the Forestry and Wildlife Division of the Department of Land Resources. and natural, the Three Mountain Alliance Foundation and the Wailoa Center State Parks. Local amateur and professional artists of all ages have been invited to submit artwork showcasing the native flora and fauna of the island of Hawaii.
This year’s Jury Show winners for the Adult Divisions include Scott Gorrell (Jury’s Choice), Diana Miller, Diana Carlson, Terry J. Walker, Amy Gillum, Elizabeth Miller, Kate Williams, Deborah Masterson, Avalon Paradea, Cody Yamaguchi, J. Griggs, Barrett Oglesby, James Friday, Adare, Dawn Sagar, and Heidi Fickinger.
This year’s Youth Division winners include Mallika Bernal (jurors ‘pick), Mapuana Fredrickson, Lewis Cameron, Ainsley Smith, Tacoma Castillo, Quincy Tobey, Bergamot Fossel, Alyssia Wiesenbauer, Eden Tobey,’ Opua Kern, Malia Kusch, VSAS 3rd and 4th grade quality, and the Jennings and Auth ‘Ohana.
COVID-19 security protocols are applied during the exhibition. Proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test result (within 72 hours) will be required to enter. Children 11 and under are exempt. A limited number of people will be able to enter the Wailoa Center at the same time. Everyone must register upon entering, wear a mask, and maintain social distancing by following signs and markings on the ground.
