Beasts of Maravilla Island is like Pokémon Snap with banana birds and otter crocodiles, and it’s now

Nintendo will never bring Pokémon Snap to PC, but bless the independent developers for being there to give us something that captures the same feeling. Stardew Valley and Wargroove have done the same with other Nintendo classics missing on PC with great success, and the indie game Beasts of Maravilla Island looks like a treat: it’s an adventure game about exploring. a strange and the photograph of his fauna. It struck me on Saturday’s Wholesome Games Direct show, and what do you know: it actually came out on Steam at present.
Game director Michelle Olson described Maravilla Island as “a game to discover extraordinary creatures, learn their behaviors and, most importantly, photograph them”. But there’s a little more to it than some other photography games – you’ll solve puzzles as you go and climb the environment to find some well-hidden creatures.
There are also birds that dress up as bananas. He is a quality creature.
A few more features, courtesy of the Steam page:
- Features over 50 extraordinary creatures and plants to photograph, each with their own unique look and behavior, such as the Twinkling Lamp Lily, Kakapo Mango Maravillan, and the Prismatic Winged Butterfly
- Complete puzzles that rely on your cooperation with animals, including playing hide and seek with an otter crocodile or helping a bird monkey find its perfect mate.
- Explore three distinct ecological zones, the Singing Jungle, the Sparkling River, and the Painted Plateau, each containing their own unique flora and fauna to discover.
