‘On TV – Stephen Seagull’ – Mail Readers Respond to RSPB Call

EAGER’s gull watchers were quick to reveal the locations of Barrow’s birds after a call from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) asking the public to help them track urban nesting gulls.

BirdTrack is a project that examines the migratory movements and distribution of birds across Great Britain and Ireland. Those who live in areas with large numbers of urban nesting gulls are encouraged to help.

Here’s what our readers had to say:

Michael Brough said, “Sitting on my neighbors wall, ready to eat his cat’s food every morning, then throw a garbage bag party on my street.”

David Barker said: “The end of my street where a lady feeds them.”

Tony Franks said: “On TV – Stephen Seagull.”

Allan Whittaker said, “They go to McDonald’s, KFC and Burger King.”

Paul Wheeler said: “I saw it hanging around Mackie D.”

Rus Edgar said: “Look deeper into the land because there are more gulls out there than there are near the sea where they should be. All you have to do is check out all the alleys from Parade St to Highfield Road and you can count them on six pairs of hands. We need large tanks because then the gulls will retreat to the sea and start eating fish again. Cutting off their food source inland encourages the food source on the coast.

Nige Cooper said: “Walney Southend at Mackies, KFC and back.”

Brian Sinclair said, “Look around you RSPB! They are everywhere lol.
