The art of governing has changed: Kiren Rijiju
Union Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju said the art of governance had changed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I have worked with the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) for a very long time. The art of governance has changed… Governance, as well as the particular focus on rural and border areas, has changed enormously over the past eight years,” he said, addressing a “ Rozgar Mela”, a 10 lakh staff recruitment campaign in Shillong.
Stating that the North East has become a priority and citing the example of road links which are now being completed at a faster rate compared to the previous era, Kiren Rijiju said: “The Prime Minister has made the North East a priority. We can see the NE transformation. From a slowly developing region, it has today become a rapidly growing economy.

“Shillong (the state capital of Meghalaya) was the capital of the North East. As the British had already established it as a capital, it had modern equipment from the start. But when you get out of this city and move to other places, you will realize the changes made by the prime minister,” Rijiju said.
“I would like to assure you that in the future, on the side of the Indian government, nothing will be missing. All the issues of the North East will be a priority. I come from the North East so I have a direct affinity, a close connection because I have traveled extensively throughout the region. The whole Northeast, united, is developing rapidly. We are becoming a hub of the economy”, Kiren Rijiju, originally from Arunachal Pradeshsaid.
“The Northeast will become prosperous. It has all the natural resources. It has all the beautiful flora and fauna. The people of NE are culturally gifted and vibrant,” the Union Minister said and reiterated the Government of India’s focus on the region.
Stressing that the Prime Minister has visited the North East “countless times” to ensure the region prospers in every way, Rijiju also informed that the Prime Minister will likely visit Shillong on November 7.
